His first project for Alessi - Programma 5 - consisted of barware and tabletop items. While minimal at first glance, the shapes evoke totemic themes explored by Sottsass as far back as the late 1960s.
The Toothpick Dispenser is part of the 1978 Condiment Set, which also includes salt and pepper shakers and oil and vinegar cruets.
