Whiskey Set Ice Bucket

The Masahiro Mori Ice Bucket is part of his Whiskey Set from 1978, which includes the Rock Cup Set. Made of high-quality porcelain by the famous Japanese manufacturer Hakusan, it has expressive elements that bring it out from under the umbrella of pure modernism and give it a personality all its own.

Masahiro Mori is an example of an established mid-century designer who adapted with changes in public taste but always explored new ideas with originality. His career as the creative vision for the Hakusan porcelain company established his reputation as a modernist in the 1950s, but by the 1970s he was exploring new ideas that pushed forward into the realm of early Post-Modern design.
